Is God possible?
God exists outside of space and time: The definition of existence is to occupy space for some amount of time.
God can do anything: God can create a universe that does not need God to create it.
God existed forever, when did he create the universe?
God knows everything, yet man has freewill.
God created a universe of billions of galaxies just so he could give man an obscure planet in one of the more…

It is an update. They are all updates.
Since I figured it was more polite to put discussions in the 'discussion' section and leave blogs to well...blog in, everything I've ever written here has just been a bit of an update on my personal life.
So here it is.
We have gone from freezing Scotland to sunny Arizona.
I've gone from insufferable allergies to insufferable sunburns.
Colin's first American holiday was Thanksgiving. We spent it wandering around in a…

Do you want to make an atheist statement? Put up a Festavess pole (SEINDFELD) instead of a tree this year. If you simply have to mock the Christians durring the silly season. Or maybe wait until Easter and nail a giant bunny Rabbit to a cross in your yard. To everyone let's just chill out this year,Max out your credit cards, and make New years resolutions like "This year I will not climb Mount Everest."I am so tired of the FoxNews war on Christmas crap;I'm an atheist, but I love X-mas! PEACE to…

During the Years of Creationism, that is, my theist years, I've shied away from science, executing the classic Just-Barely-Passing maneuver in all of my classes. Just recently, however, I've found that science, especially Biology, fascinates me to no end. I recently purchased three (old and "outdated", but still accurate) textbooks on Biology and Biochemistry. Upon reading through the first Biology textbook (haven't finished it, but I love it so far) I find I'm learning more about the human…

Chambersburg Pennsylvania appears to be this years winner in the crazy Nativity Scene battle. Last year it was my state of Washington whom made headlines because the Freedom From Religion Foundation placed a sign next to the Nativity Scene. Bill O'Reilly lost his mind and Megyn Kelly had to
handle him on his own show. This year in Chambersburg a request was made to put a sign next to the Nativity Scene acknowledging…

An Oregon legislative leader plans to introduce a bill to repeal a 1923 state law that bans teachers from wearing religious garb.
House Speaker Dave Hunt, D-Gladstone, said he will push to "allow teachers to have the same religious free exercise rights as every other Oregonian" when legislators meet in February.
Labor Commissioner Brad Avakian and state schools Superintendent Susan Castillo, who recently sent letters to every lawmaker asking them to drop…

A government minister has blamed Indonesia's recent string of natural disasters on people's immorality.
Communication and Information Minister Tifatul Sembiring said that there were many television programmes that destroyed morals.
Therefore, the minister said, natural disasters would continue to occur.
His comments came as he addressed a prayer meeting on Friday in Padang, Sumatra, which was hit by a powerful earthquake in late…

More than 57% of Swiss voters have supported a referendum proposal to ban the building of minarets, according to results from 25 out of 26 cantons.
Partial results from the final canton indicated 68% of people there supported the ban, Swiss news agency ATS said.
The proposal has been backed by the Swiss People's Party (SVP), the largest party in parliament, which claims minarets are a sign of Islamisation.…

I was raised Catholic but Ive atleast been agnostic for about 10 years in that i knew the thought of a god allowing suffering made no sense to me. The thing is I never really gave it much thought past that. I figured that I could just let the Religious believe in what they want and I will mind my own business and just live my life. I guess like alot of people in their late teens/early twenties i was more concerned with what I was going to do that night(bars, parties) rather than any religious…

Evolutionary Psychology has posted a
paper that concludes societies who lack religion are happier and more prosperous than those whom have religion. It certainly is something that most of us here have always known, but now we have a study to point to. Giggidy!
The article that pointed me to the paper is found…

A great website by Berkley on evolution, what is it, how it works, along with all of sciences and evolutions misconceptions and anti-evolutionist propaganda:
http://evolution.berkeley.edu/evosite/evohome.html
It teaches you everything from how it was formed, to how it works, to why its accepted, to the proof behind it.
Great find IMHO =]
enjoy!

Carnivore or Herbivore ???
I seem to have created some debate. I guess I stepped on a sacred cow or better yet the sacred Big Mac. Debate is a good thing. It is how most of us became atheists in the first place. We began to question the wisdom of the established religions. We began to cast doubt where slavery, sexism, bigotry, and ignorance are supported by dogma.
This is an argument that goes back and forth; all kinds of answerer's are given on both sides of the debate. There is a…

Your Holiday Prayer.
Our Martha (Stewart),
who art in heaven,
Excellent be thy Name.
Thy dinner bun.
Thy pie be done,
On earth as it is nearly seven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our judgment lapses,
As we were drinking a lot of wine when we made this stuffing.
I’m not sure where the temptation,
To put dried apricots in it came from,
That is just evil.
[For thine is the kingdom, and the Packers will beat…

Think About It.
I hear complaints from some about veganism and vegetarianism. Meat eaters seem as defensive about their diets as Christians and Muslims are about their religions. Perhaps the same kind of false assumptions and faith is being applied.
Lots of meat eaters claim that it is there right to eat meat. That eating meat is a personal choice. Eating meat is exercising their freedom. It tastes good so there fore they should eat it.
Well just like religion has…
