FINALLY as the dominoes started falling one after another...now a state can no longer claim that their religious based or homophobia based prejudice trumps the rights of…

Can we prove Aristotle’s “Prime Mover”:Everything that happens is caused by something else? Then what caused the first cause?

The cause of the universe might be eternal, thus eliminating the need for a cause. As people have accepted the Big Bang Theory, so this objection has fallen out of favor.

It is worth pointing out that time is an aspect of the universe, without the universe, there is no time. It has existed at every point in time and that at no point in time has there been no universe.

1.Everything that exists or begins to exist has a cause?

2. Universe began to exist therefore it has a… Continue

My first post, discussion with my believer husband.

Yesterday I told my husband he does not look at both sides of issues.  He gives money to a group that "helps Christians who have been hurt by other people".  He gets requests for money for Christian Martyrs all over the World.  I told him there are Christians killing others, recently in Africa.  Our news  seems to never cover it if Christians are doing the looting and killing.  He told me they "are not true Christians".  I told him "the KKK say they are true Christians."  Some White…

Orphan White

Rachel Dolezal, the white-black woman, is rather interesting. When I was young, people had to be gay to be that interesting. Now when someone comes out as gay everyone is "Meh, what else you got?" I mean, I don't even…

Should I be this frustrated?

As I've said in a previous blog post, I have yet to come out to my parents as atheist. That being said, that setting on Facebook has been set to "Atheist" from "Christian" for quite a while. Of course, the change is hidden from my family lists, but it's visible to everyone else. Now, this is not going to be a post about my feeling entitled for personal catering when it comes to what I see on my Wall or anything, but sometimes, things just get a bit frustrating.

I still have several…

A Recent Find Online

I haven't called myself a true Christian for a long while. In fact, it shouldn't have been surprising to me when watching an online documentary, that I was no longer of the Christian mindset. However, I was proved wrong today.

There are YouTube sprees that begin with cute kittens and end with tear-worthy proposal videos, and then there is the internet-wide search that I underwent. I got it in my head, and I'm unsure as to how it started, but I started browsing for any literature or…

Ideal con scam

For a confidence trickster to try to implement a foolproof scam, it becomes important that the victim has no idea that he has been set up to be swindled. The individual confidence man, more commonly known as a con-artist, is at a disadvantage as there is always an element of risk that he may stumble and become exposed for what he is. Once the victim realises that he has been taken in, he turns against the confidence man, and he will refuse to play the game again. He will…

Long before the creation of man, The biblical God provided the basis for such measuring of time. Gen.1:14-15. Tells us that one of the purposes of the "luminaries in the expanse of the heavens" is that they might serve for "seasons and for days and years." The solar day, and the solar year, and the lunar months are the natural division of time.

For those who are believers the time of Adam and Eve's banishment from the Garden of Eden, time has been measured in terms of…

Witch Hunt

Today you quite often hear the word witch hunt by the media when someone may feel that they are being victimised, can you imagine how it would have felt in days gone by when witch hunting was in progress. It cost you your life.

In days of old the bible says there were…

Conception of Jesus

Do you think that Mary and Joseph should have remembered the miraculous events surrounding the birth of Jesus? You would naturally think that when a woman goes through a unique conception, that she would remember it, and that the man who’s wife became pregnant while they were engaged, without any effort on his part, that he would remember it also. It is not something he would easily forget. Yet the gospel writers seem to have strange memory lapses.

According to Luke 2: 42-50, Mary…

Props to Reg the Fronkey Farmer!

I'm not the most frequent or popular member of this forum, but I would express thanks and encourage the same among others for 'Sunday School.' I think it's a great feature of this site.

Many on this site share my view that religion reduces the quantity and quality of human life. Reg has kept us up to date on current affairs, and I think that deserves recognition. His 'Sunday School' reduces human suffering, even if I cannot point to all tangible results across the world and to our…

For our future...

I'm in school right now, and one of the classes I'm taking is the philosophy of environmental ethics. I'm feeling like my views are quite extreme, because I am the only person in the class who is pretty vocal about the idea that a secular society is the way to a sustainable future (or one of the first steps towards it anyway…). But I suppose that’s open for debate.

Our impact on the environment is undisputed among reputable scientists for the most part…the consensus it that human…

Russian-Americans are Asian-Americans, right?

Russian-Americans are by definition Asian-Americans, right? Or is Russia not part of Asia?
