About Me:
Hello! My name is Mecca and I am a 21 student from New Zealand. And of course - I'm atheist!
Why are you here?
I would like to find more like minded people. All my friends are either Christian or just avoid the matter altogether (they are probably Atheist but they just don't know it or they don't really care as much as I do).

Dawkins faith

Hi everyone,

A Christian friend of mine said,

So for all the genius of Dawkins (who I believe is a great scientist, but poor philosopher), his theory of how

science can explain away God hits two major snags along the way. Purpose

and genesis. The best explanation for these I have heard is "that we

don't have the answers yet, but we will". But what is that if…

New Zealand Atheist Billboards are up!

For those interested, here are the billboards that have gone up today in New Zealand in the three largest cities. "Kiwi's" are the slang term for New Zealanders. Sort of like Yanks for Americans I suppose.…

Oh the irony!

Just read an article on the Blues Brothers receiving recognition from the Vatican for their "Mission from God". The

Vatican Newspaper wrote a few articles on it for the movie's 30th anniversary, and one of articles they wrote has a line that says:

"...there is "no lack of evidence" that The Blues Brothers can be considered "a Catholic film."

Oh the sweet (or bitter?) irony.…

My wife and I are planning a 3 week trip to NZ in Oct. Can you recommend things to see in your area, along with nice, but moderately priced accommodations. Maybe we'll have a chance to network with you while there.
Many Thanks,

I am working on a book about deconversions. I would recommend you look at my blog at I post all my stuff their first, that will also be the source for my book.

So far, I do most of my deconversions online, with limited in person stuff (mostly due to time constraints).

Stay involved with me in my posts. You will learn a lot. Right now I am working heaviest in the athiest community building a strong community. Once I start hitting the major religious sites there will be a lot of inbound material. I would hope to have a strong deconversion community that we can all just knock these folks over, one by one - bink, bink, bink .... over they go.

Nice to have you on ThinkAtheist

I love to help people deconvert, work with recovering religionists, post funny jokes.
Most recently: "Showdown God vs. Star Trek Q" and all kinds of interesting atheist stuff.
