Don't worry folks, Freedom and Justice will prevail, even if it takes us four years of grinning and bearing. An gnashing teeth. And I'm not even considering the "I" word, impeachment. There are other, more basic needs (e.g. facts/truth and reasonable perspective in media) to be worked on, first.

First, the most negatively influential. Thermometers in (obviously biased) Hell:

My aim's not to sensationalize the sensationalist "news" and information orgs. I think we'll be going through a process of defining what's believable and what's not on the internet, with pro-fact vs pro-sensationalist (i.e. pro-emotional/anger) orgs competing for clicks and eyeballs. The developing Trumpistan makes me think of Scientology, with stories and "facts" that are so outrageously unbelievable (and yet believed by the cult members), that they're hard to discuss without both sides looking like idiots.

Don't let cynicism trump reason, good humor, or inclusionism (i.e. the opposite of exclusionism).

Unfortunately I disagree with you Pope Beanie. I think we're fucked and the sooner we come to terms with that the better. I've known from the beginning that this was coming. I said it months ago - if he became the nominee he will become president. I was right. So hear me: If my predictions are correct again - we are totally and royally fucked. Say good bye to our Constitution, and enjoy what's left of our current democracy. Say good bye to everything that was good about the U.S. And if you can, get the hell out of here as fast as you can. I am actively seeking a European to marry to get the fuck out of here myself. Hell I would even marry someone from Latin America....Canada....eh....I would do that too I guess. Just get me the hell out of here!!!!

If only it were easier to become an expat when you're flat broke living on welfare!!!

Yes most people were wrong about the outcome (same as happened with Brexit), but populist movements have had a reputation of turning against the leader they had originally put all their faith into... unless (say) it's a real Hitler.

Can you imagine USA being able to execute all Muslims in the name of nationalism? I dare say if it came to that, the whole damned world is fucked and you're better off keeping friends here and building on that. :)

I think at worst, we may go through a phase of McCarthyism, and die-hard bigots will get their 15 minutes of fame. We'll slide back for four years, but the opportunities to fix things again will (I expect... well, okay, unless we set loose the nukes) keep me excited.
