Just wondering what everyone makes for their Thanksgiving feast?  I am making a lasagna.  Still thinking about what to make for desert.  Share your favorite recipes.  Any ideas on deserts?

My husband is an omnivore and the only one in our family who cares about a Thanksgiving meal at all. So he will cook up a turkey and some sides. For a veggie "protein" I may supplement for the veggies in the family with fried artichokes hearts or fri chick.

Fried Heart of Artichokes

Get one or more cans:

Open and drain

If not already cut , cut into quarters or smaller.

Beat up some eggs (or if vegan use apple sauce maybe?) and dip artichoke hearts in that.

Then roll in Italian bread crumbs (best if there is some anise of fennel in the bread crumbs. If you don't want to make bread crumbs fresh and use fresh anise or fennel, the easiest way to do this is just to use a small amount of anise or fennel seeds in say, Progresso Italian bread crumbs from the story.

In a heated frying pan, with extra virgin olive oil, fry until some of the outsides are crispy but the insides are tender (I sometimes add a dash of lemon juice to the pan too.

Alternatively you can simply throw all the artichokes hearts in the oven and bake them. You aren't likely to get the crispy or fried flavors just right this way but if you very worried about eating fried things, it's doable.

YUMMY! Pop in mouth to eat, use in sandwiches or with a spaghetti sauce and spaghetti.

My personal preference for desert is Pecan Pie or Blackberry Cobbler but the kids prefer chocolate or red velvet cake. So we may have any of those, something else or nothing at all. I'm really not sure yet.
