How to find meaning in atheism

How to find meaning in atheism

I have trouble treating the things in my life with any sort of care and it's because i'm an atheist so in all honestly i don't really see any reason to keep going. So lets talk about this, about the paradox i'm sure most of us have experienced.

For me, it's really quite simple. There is no "meaning" for anything, outside of what we animals capable of understanding "meaning" have applied to things. This works for me, though maybe some of you are looking for some deeper, objective meaning. In that case, I would ask myself "what do I value, and why?" And perhaps try to derive meaning from values.

I find that statement a little bizarre. As flower very well states, youre atheism is not what stops youre problems with life.. its life! Life is hard and sometimes we struggle with coping with difficult periods that life throws at us. Life changing events will alwsys challenge our thinking. Some people have god... for me as an athiest, u have family and friends and a free will!

Well to simplify the way I think about it.. Sometimes we have good days.. Sometimes we have bad days.. But since there is no meaning of life and life is so horrible for so many.. Why not make sure that everything that we do in life has some sort of personal meaning and why not try to make life a little bit better for those we care about around us? (that's all i got.)

I agree with Flower. Let's get real we would have encountered those same problems whether we believed in god or we didn't.
