1000 mile run

A lot of times new runners start out their running "career" blindly. With all the information available, it can be difficult to know what is most important in running for beginners. Running is a fun, natural, healthy activity but it does take some knowledge and forethought to run without getting injured.

In short, this group has alot of information on how to run correctly, and get you on the right path!

Also I started a 1000 (With 642.76 miles completed) mile Atheist run for anyone that has the Nike + system. Even if you don't have the nike + system you can still post your run's here in the group! If you have any questions let me know!

Morgan Matthew~

This is my Runs a few days ago The system makes it fun again to run!

I started again today. Nothing big, just to get warmed up. Man, I forgot how good it feels.

I haven't run since last year. I'm considering restarting from scratch and doing the walk-run program from the nike+ site.

Hey all, any advice on doing a triathlon? I think I'm finally going to get around to it this year.

I just joined so I thought it would be prudent to say hi to you all and toss out a question.

What is your goal this year when it comes to running? Mine is to get out and run at least 100 times and build up the stamina to be able to keep up with my dad's average km/week (which is usually around 30-40km)

Hi all~

I have a pretty set running schedule that is track and interval based. Anyone wanting to share info let me know. One of my programs is from UEFA's referee training program, another from a 5k speed imporvement workout from Runners World and a workout from Bob Evans, author of "For the Good of the Game." Cheers, see you out there.

I have a question for other runners...

I run each evening. I started about a year ago and finally have gotten consistent in my motivation to hit the gym daily (including weekends). I currently run a solid 2 miles, but would like to increase.

What increments do you use to update your length? Also, do you work up, run, and work down, quit or do you walk and run in intervals?

Thanks for the advice! BTW, I just got new shoes... feels good...

I have a Garmin Forerunner that I use for my runs and I really like it, so I'll pass on the Nike+. It seems like they should provide some means to log a run manually - what if your forget your plus, or it malfunctions, etc. But go ahead with the challenges, don't let my lack of technology stop you!

trust me its worth it.
