An original freethought song I performed on January 19th, 2014 at the Freethought Arizona monthly meeting and lecture, about the cosmos, the natural world and quantum theory.

My thanks to David E Comings MD, "Did Man Create God" pub 2007, Paul Kurtz, "The Future of Secular Humanism in America", Free Inquiry Magazine Aug/Sept 2009, and Lawrence Rifkin, "Sublime Naturalism", Free Inquiry Magazine Aug/Sept 2009 for their inspiring articles.

WONDER AND JOY

our galaxy filled with four hundred billion stars they say
shining bright giving light throughout the Milky Way
spiral arms reaching fifty thousand light years out
speeding through space Andromeda en-route
the circle of life goes round and round
birth, life and death - all species are bound
the cosmic mysteries uncovered - discovered in nature
knowledge and understanding of every creature

wonder and joy, moon and the stars
wonder and joy, beauty and love
wonder and joy, in the natural world
wonder and joy, moon and the stars
wonder and joy, beauty and love
wonder and joy, wonder and joy, wonder and joy

deep feelings and human emotions begin
creativity and love inspired from within
evidence, logic, and reason to celebrate another day
beauty and awe in knowing natures way
we hear music, we see sunsets and walk in the woods
we feel a connection to this beautiful world
breathing in air - we love being alive
existing on this planet where we thrive

wonder and joy, moon and the stars
wonder and joy, beauty and love
wonder and joy, in the natural world
wonder and joy, moon and the stars
wonder and joy, beauty and love
wonder and joy, wonder and joy, wonder and joy
wonder and joy, wonder and joy, wonder and joy

uncertainty and weirdness theories - anthropic principles
and the observer - riding on waves and particles
beyond what we know - mysteries of the quantum
forces of the universe - can't stop them
M-theory - of everything - the T.O.E.
parallel and multiverse and cyclic cosmology
the universe we know made of vibrating strings
matter and anti-matter clashing and exploding things

wonder and joy, moon and the stars
wonder and joy, beauty and love
wonder and joy, in the natural world
wonder and joy, moon and the stars
wonder and joy, beauty and love
wonder and joy, wonder and joy, wonder and joy
wonder and joy, wonder and joy, wonder and joy

+1

Paul, in a folksy, intellectual way: you rock. I really enjoyed that!
