What Would Happen if You Stuck Your Hand in the Large Hadron Collider Stream?

It's an interesting question. The science involved is outside of my realm of even conceiving. I'm about to make an argument from ignorance. But I don't buy for a second that the energy and mass could go through your hand without damage. It's got to make contact. I picture a 7.62 mm round versus a 9 mm... the speed of the 7.62 round is devastating but with a smaller diameter. The mass of a proton is tiny, but a group of them at the speed of light... your hand first!

also..what about the energy that is spread out on your appendage after the proton goes through you. I mean..with a bullet, the energy is absorbed throughout the target. I guess it would have to sort of have the same reaction. let just say..I don't think it would be a very clean hole...
