Problem of evil? What problem of evil? You don't have to be an atheist; even Christians can resolve this without difficulty. All they have to do is believe in the God of the Bible.

Also if prophets of god lie about his behaviour on what basis can one judge the rest of the bible as truth or lie? Though I guess such an evil god could be a lie just as well to his prophets as anyone else.
