Comment by doubtingSteve on March 5, 2012 at 8:01pm Dr Tyson is just such an engaging and charismatic speaker. He is this generation's Carl Sagan. And we need someone like him speaking now more than ever
Comment by Rocky Oliver (LotusGeek) on March 6, 2012 at 8:46am NdT is my favorite astrophysicist of all time. I put him right there with Carl Sagan.
Comment by Rocky Oliver (LotusGeek) on March 6, 2012 at 8:48am Oh, and I've seen him say this live - he said this exact thing when he spoke at a conference I speak at, Lotusphere. He has spoken there twice - the first time he talked about Pluto's demotion, the second was just the excitement about science, astrophysics, etc. - and he said this, and it was inspiring.
Comment by Rocky Oliver (LotusGeek) on March 6, 2012 at 8:50am As an aside, did anyone else think that the moon that zoomed into view at about the 2:20 mark was the Death Star? I guess I'm too much of a Star Wars junkie.... ;)
I heard him on the radio today. He said he is working on hosting an up-to-date new series of Carl Sagan's Cosmos. 13th episodes by end 2014. a bit more here.
