A geologist and an Irish creationist debate atop of the Grand Canyon. FULL PROGRAM HERE: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oju_lpqa6Ug
Creationism is accept by many in the Northern Ireland that are part of various Protestant sect. I did a few day’s work in Belfast recently. The office was directly opposite the Ulster Museum. When I said I was going to spend lunch hour there I was informed that “most of it was lies”. Someone else in the office was staring at me with a “don’t say anything” look. So for once I bit my lip and kept quiet. Not like me but I also noticed a Bible opened on his desk. He is a civil engineer designing water treatment plants. I was told afterwards that he sees no contradiction between his creationist beliefs and geology, a subject he works with almost every day. Not much point getting into a debate with people like that!
BTW - the full video is worth a look.
You're right, that was an enjoyable hour! It's about a busload of one Muslim plus Christian fundamentalists taken around to meet real scientists.
