Was this video meant as a joke? If so, it's funny. If not, it's light years funnier.

Now I wish I was serious. :)

However, I got one person ask me - "Didn't a person actually create the glass though?" - and found myself wondering the same thing you wondered ... "are you serious?"

Clearly a satire!  (No Xian would prostrate like that.)

But it puts me in mind of Douglas Adams' puddle, which thought that the ground was ideally designed to hold it because the shape fit was perfect.

Clearly a satire!

Well, sure. It's clearly satire now that the OP has identified it as such. Christians routinely assert essentially the same absurd 'proof' of God in everything from intelligent design to altruism and they mean it. I've also seen religious crackpots wail, spasm, gesticulate, kneel, bow, raise their hands, genuflect, self-flagellate, speak in tongues, and prostrate, and likewise they mean it. Left to stand on its own there's enough to suggest but not conclude the video is satire.

** Why "God" had to retreat into the world of "feelings"

After tremendous resistance, god-proxies had to give up on the physical world and events within nature as being evidence for the existence of metaphysical entities, forces, being, ground of being. It might be a useful exercise to inquire of a true believer who is a biblical lieteralist whether his ideology demands that somehow -- the Sun must circle the Earth. We're coming up on the 500th anniversary of the birth of protestantism via Martin Luther in 1517. Luther had no problem beating Conpernicus over the old man's head with his biblical defense of an Earth centered universe:

“People give ear to an upstart astrologer [Copernicus] who strove to show that the earth revolves, not the heavens or the firmament, the sun and the moon. Whoever wishes to appear clever must devise some new system, which of all systems is of course the very best. This fool wishes to reverse the entire science of astronomy.” [Martin Luther, Works, Volume 22, c. 1543]

That's a difficult view to sustain today -- it is in the present state of knowledge irrational. The same verdict is true about so-called intelligent design and all forms of lies about modern evolutionary theory. Resistance goes on; but resistance is futile -- unless science can be undermined by ideological action.

By 1800 the cult of "feeling" -- what gets called romanticism -- undercut ideas of rationality in the arts. Waves of religious enthusiasm -- the sort of hysterical outpourings common to today's xian rallies -- brought about the "great awakening". It's a disease from which xians still suffer. Science displaced "God" from the universe -- "God" leaves no detectable footprints in the cosmos; no fingerprints on his creation.

"God" went inward to hide in the "feelings" of the believer -- psychology, sociology, anthropology, comparative study of religion haven't yet finished with driving "God" out of the "human heart" or the "soul".

Defending "God" in nature remains only an irrational rearguard action. Try addressing the idea of "subjective certainty" of "God's" existence -- it's the last place for him to hide.

Is there a Christian denomination that prostrates?  That is what led me to my conclusion it was fake; I've never seen Xians do that--though they certainly have the attitude it illustrates

Is there a Christian denomination that prostrates?

Absolutely, Steve. Also some Christians prostrate independently of denomination. A search on YouTube produces examples of both.

My personal favorite-- which I inconceivably left off my previous list-- is being "slain in the spirit"; a cross (no pun intended) between prostration and keeling over.
