If the country club had decided just not to allow him to speak there from the get go, I'd think it unfortunate and inappropriate, but within their rights. I'll go out on a limb and suggest that Richard Dawkins would not make an issue of it under those circumstances either.

As mentioned in the news piece, the fact that they reneged on a contract is the major issue. That's wrong in an of itself, but the fact that it was done discriminatorily just makes it worse.

A personal insult to a great man. He should pursue the legal action he mentions.I think the publicity surrounding the whole thing is good for the cause. I particularly liked Richards indignation that it was as a result of an interview with "Bill O'Riley " that his appearance was cancelled.

Yeah, Andrew, that was priceless.  Notice how that shot was very short?  I bet the reporter was too flumoxed to formulate a decent response.  I would have laughed.
