jaw-dropping is right... as she strains to retain composure under pressure, she says it's not emotionally based...

Wow. She will just not shut up. I almost stopped the video! I can't stand all that excessive blathering. He asked you a question. Answer it.

I thought he didn't want to deal with creationists anymore? Or was that just debates?

CWA is also an anti-gay group btw.

who knows, this could be an older vid, Steve. maybe this interview was the reason he didn't want to deal with creationists anymore... :)

I found this interview to be problematic. Both parities had to stand for a long period of time while speaking, with a swinging camera man 2 feet away from their faces. Both parties repeated concerns, Dawkins said "look at the evidence dozens of times, while Wright kept saying there was no evidence. Dawkins should have change his tune from there, perhaps suggesting books, inviting her to visual education outfits (like TED) and gone on to more complex matters. She wouldn't have accepted or understood because she's inflexible and stubbornly dense, but perhaps a viewer might have gotten something out of it. I didn't get anything out of this except that it cements the idea that each religion thinks they are the one and only with no problems and they are right all the time. I also found it interesting that she thought that science and it's teachings should always be right, 100% of the time, or else it is a fraud. I don't think she will ever realize how closed minded she is.

I hope Dawkins never stops doing these, however.

Every time she puts on her happy-go-lucky face and says "show me the material evidence" I honestly just want to punch her in the face! ha ha

I now have even more respect for Richard Dawkins - I mean, him standing there calmly for so long interviewing her without showing signs of frustration and aggression. He simply repeats the evolutionary facts - sadly she ignores them.

What really annoys me is her creationist argument appealing to "fairness" to make room for teaching other creation "theories" in science class. You can not teach non-science in science class!

I would love to have renowned paleoanthropologists Donald Johanson and Richard Leakey simply put her straight and show her all the "material evidence" that she is seeking!

Anyone else feel like smacking her with a science book?

She doesn't know what a species is. There are many examples of ring species where the end result (just in a period of a century) are unable to mate with eachother and have some pretty differing traits, and apparently is not aware of our collection of hundreds of ape-human transitional fossils, since she's caught up on the two examples of fraud that the scientific community rejected outright. She also doesn't understand that new species continue being of the type of the old species; a new species evolved from say, humans, would still be categorized as "human", in addition to another branch of category. I guess she is also not aware that DNA evidence includes thousands of ERVs shared at the same locations of human and other primate/mammal chromosomes, which ONLY happens when two creatures share a common ancestor, of the same species or otherwise.

This woman is barely sentient.

I'm not sure whether this is before or after Dawkins officially stated that he would not debate creationists. I'm just glad he did this interview because it really displays the stupidity of creationism. He simply destroys her!

Also, I bet she is a Sarah Palin fan - seems likely that they are even related by family ha ha.
