I had to look this up, being deprived of news, recently. So that was the WA Senate, which passed the bill. Then the House passed it and the Governor signed.

Apparently they already had 5,000 same-sex domestic partnerships registered since that became legal in 2007, so I guess the big plus with the new marriage law is that WA same-sex marriages can now also be legally recognized in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Iowa, Vermont, Maine and New Hampshire.

This wonderful, moving speech was promptly followed by much bible thumping and screaming about how God hates fags, homosexuals are an abomination, they're immoral, etc etc...

Love my country, hate the people. Sick, isn't it?
