Don't worry - no matter how many people are opposed to abortion, there just aren't that many who are anti-birth control. If the religious right pushed this issue front and center they would just marginalize themselves out of mainstream politics. Even my conservative Republican, strict Roman Catholic grandparents used condoms during the Depression.
