Does anyone else agree with me that the woman doesn't sound like an atheist? Seriously, what atheist makes the mistake of saying that Hitler was an atheist?

Yeah that woman likes and defends religion too much to be an atheist - IMO.

She sounds like an 'atheist apologist', that is if there is such a thing!

Matt - an uninformed atheist might accept that Hitler was an atheist.
Everyone who doesn't think she's really an atheist - you are commiting the No True Scotsman fallacy. If she doesn't think there is a god, she is an atheist, no matter what she thinks of religion. Now, I would agree that she is either dumb, or, more likely, sees where the big bucks are - pandering to religion.

Cupp certainly doesn't sound like an Atheist to me either. It's either an act or she's very poorly read. When she was on Hannity's show, she didn't even correct his horribly wrong definition of the term Atheist. The rest... nothing new there. But at least Bill was his usual self. :)

I still think I was right. The one and only requirement of being an atheist is not believing in a god or gods. Whether you don't know anything about history, religion, science of what have you is irrelevent. Now, although my first response would be that she isn't an atheist, it doesn't matter what I think. And it is irrelevent if she is an atheist, the important thing is that she is clearly ignorant, and apparently willingly so.

I don't think we are really seeing what Cupp believes. She has found a way to make money and she is doing it...and will continue to do it as long as people listen to her or read her books. Her audience is the conservative one which is primarily religious. Do you think she would cut her own purse string?

I find that I agree with Janis. Cupp is a very uninformed atheist. We are all self-described atheists and our only common factor is that we don't believe in god(s). Recently there was a post about creating an atheist political party, but that was described as trying to herd cats. Here is a perfect example.
