Anybody else thinking that maybe Dave SIlverman isn't our best foot to put forward? His talking points are painful, and his delivery makes him seem like a prick. What was the point of this radio interview other than getting these christians all worked up?

I'm not all that impressed by him. He is entitled to his views, certainly -- perhaps he has a better understanding of his target demographic than I do --, but I think he's setting himself up as cannon fodder for religion advocates that are more clever, more articulate, and more experienced with these debates.

the doctors said it was a miracle..it's sad that their religion has them so deluded that their education and years of experience doesn't amount to anything.

you wonder why we get upset? because we are the ones are constantly oppressed..they are not.

if the only atheists he knows are upset because someone has hurt them...he cant possibly know too many atheists. The reason an atheist would be hurt in the first place is because we are sick of the oppression. we are sick of being judged for being ourselves.

um...no, they really are the ones who dont know a lot about Christmas. And you know what, im sick and tired of people like the first caller because we do have a reason to be agree. you cant talk to a brick wall and when the conversation is over, they had the nerve to trash talk the guy in the first place. A christian will never talk to an atheist with their guard down, should why should an atheist be any different.

Yeah, I agree with Kris. Atheist Mr. Silverman didn't handle that show well, and just became the fodder.

Well I didn't think he was that bad. Yeah we could have gotten someone better for sure but he wasn't terrible. I think he made some good points about the auditing of non-profits that churches don't have to go through. Clearly that went over the hosts heads because they thought his whole argument was that churches should have to pay taxes when that was not his argument. He was saying only that churches should defend their charity statues just like other charities and non-profits. And the hosts are ABSOLUTELY THE MOST CONDESCENDING BASTARDS EVER. I laughed at their stupidity and arrogance so many times. Then they had the audacity to say atheists are atheist only because we were hurt by religion and are now rebelling. Their smug demeanor annoyed the hell out of me but I at the same time, I could only laugh.
