Pat Condell on respecting faith

I believe that Douglas N. Adams once questioned why religion should get a free pass without anyone questioning it. I will tolerate any religion only for so long before I will make my own opinions known. I choose to respect people, rather that their beliefs, however if they should attempt to sway me with their religious doctrine I will shut them down immediately (because they clearly have no respect for anyone's beliefs but their own narrow views.) I have little patience for rhetoric or stupidity, so I agree that if someone goes knocking on my door to convert me I feel fully justified to turn my hose on them. Two can spew at once, can't they? I bet my shower is likely to be more pure than their wet shouts of anger (pious words indeed!) Why not "Baptize" these idiots as they trespass? After all, one might even consider their intentions to be a sort of assault, hmm?

The worst is when they come around with their children, in order to brainwash them into their own twisted thinking...

Gotta love that line towards the end: "asking me not to mock your beliefs is like asking me not to laugh at your toupee, it just makes the whole thing even more ridiculous". LOL, it says so much.

Respect for one's  religion is tantamount to respect shown for the rants of a mentally disturbed, psychotic individual.  You can respect a person and not his/her religion.

Never respect faith. Tolerate it if you must.
