Comment by David Ng on July 24, 2012 at 8:53pm I was thinking this would be an insensitive thing to say as is the default reaction but saying worshippers of a god that doesn't exist are going to a place which doesn't exist once they're dead is kinda pointless anyway. But it offends people's quiet sensibilities.
Still a stupid thing to say for all reasons.
Comment by James Cox on July 25, 2012 at 8:15pm Something like this happened to my family, after my sister's death. My sister had spent most of her life in a children's hospital after kidney failure due to an infection. A few weeks after her death, our family went to pastoral counceling with the local catholic church that we had been members of. I remember sitting in thier office listening to the priest speek with my parents and mentioning that '..if your family had attended church more often, your child might not have died'. My sister was six when she died, I was 11. My parents spent days at the hospital with my sister, watching her slow trip to her death, and the church is concerned about a drop in attendence? What total BS. I quess this attitude is still heald by these people, +50 years later.
