I don't think he was being cold. The man asked a question. Dawkins answered it honestly. Everyone knows Dawkins doesn't believe there is a god, so his answer should come as no surprise. I'm sure it didn't shake the faith of this guy. What else was he supposed to say? His mission has not been to sugar-coat reality for grown men...

I think this is a prime example of people hearing what they want to hear. The man basically says he has a strong faith in Jesus and basis his life on him. To which Dawkins says the only reason you said Jesus is because of where you were born. There are many different names for the same fairy tale. The man says no no no it's because its Jesus! All the others are fairy tales. Dawkins says you aren't getting it and you never will. 

The man asking the question doesn't even see a good argument when it pisses on his shoes!

I would say, "If you really believe that you have seen the risen Jesus Christ then you need a psychiatrist and even your priest is likely to agree on that issue. You haven't actually seen him though, have you? Your words are just the rhetoric with which you reinforce your faith in nothing."

He wasn't being cold, just truthful.  The argument Dawkins throws at him, about if you were born in a different country you would have different "hallucinations" pretty much sums it up for me.  Do not tell me your god gave you(white European men) one message, and then the same god gave let's say, middle eastern farmers a different message. That means your god is one sick F#&* because all he wants us to do is kill each other because of differing beliefs, OR, maybe just maybe, it's all made up and you are in-fact delusional.  One thing that differs Dawkins from Hitchens is that Hitch would've had fun in making his point, Dawkins just doesn't have the patience for that type of idiocy and just says it like it is.
