Faith has two definitions. One is trust or confidence in something or someone. The second definition is belief in god or the supernatural based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof or evidence. One could also say any belief that is not based on evidence. The way I see it is one definition of faith is without evidence the other can be based on evidence. A person can have trust of confidence in something or someone based on experiential evidence. Such as your mother or family member or friend has repeatedly demonstrated themselves to be trustworthy and therefore you have faith in them based on evidence that you have experienced objectively. Mr. Freeman is more than likely not saying he has a belief in science based on no evidence but rather is saying he has confidence in it based on what it has accomplished with evidence and logic and reason. The two definition of which I speak are from the Oxford dictionary.

Ok, in that regard I agree.  My faith in science is far different than my previous faith in the existence of god.

Great except for the "faith in science" bit. It gives out the wrong message and could even give ammo to creationists.

The man is an actor after all and not a scientist.

Too many people side step the god question entirely. Kudos to Morgan for facing it head on.

Ask a politician trying to get elected if he is a man of god and see what answer you will get. Remember Obama's "cling to their guns and religion" statement? He almost came clean before his advisers slammed the door shut on him. It will take many thousands more actors, politicians, high profile business owners, sports stars, and all around celebrities to endorse a no religion stance before the rest of us will get any respect.

You know his in-box is being filled with christian hate messages right now. We should all send some love his way to show we have his back.

I'm surprized that he didn't 'get smote' on the spot by a Xianut.

I've just added him to my list of "people who inspire me" on FaceBook. I had already included his show on my list of TV shows.
