Great video. I like the baking cake analogy. While I don't buy the motivational speaker's theory about the physiology of the feet, I do agree with him that people's state of mind can generally affect their motivation and success. Such positive thinking is not at odds with the physicists explanation of why the feet remain unharmed. The physicists explanation fails to address the feelings of nervousness that Shermer claims he felt before, and the exhilaration that the girl felt afterward. Experiencing these mental states are the real purpose of fire walking.
