Thanks. I cried too. Yeah, those poor innocent children! When will this stop!
Comment by Aurie Elizabeth on October 5, 2011 at 5:26pm What an amazing man. Thanks for posting this!
Thanks. He's the first openly gay city council member in Ft. Worth, Tx, which is, as you probably know, just about 30 min. from Dallas.
About two years ago the first gay bar opened up in Ft. Worth, and the police raided it -- like this was the 1950s or something. They bullied the patrons, put one of them in the hospital, arrested others, and then blamed it all on the patrons -- claiming that they were being groped when they entered. Ft. Worth is still pretty hick in a lot of ways, so it is amazing that an openly gay man won a seat on the city council.
Comment by Ruby Ann Parga on October 6, 2011 at 11:05am Joel Burns is so brave! I wish there were more adults like him in the gay community for gay youth to look up to!
Have you seen the video that plays next after the Joel Burns one is over? I'ts hilarious!
I didn't notice it until you pointed it out Ruby. It was funny. It's good to see teens be so reasonable and fair-minded.
Wow, what a brave guy. Hard not to cry with him. Thank you for posting this.
Thanks for watching Bill. Yes, it is hard to watch and not cry.
