I can't believe that woman has a doctorate.
Sometimes crazy people are good at school :/
The religio-industrial complex must be taxed like all other businesses/corporations in the country their continuing exception in this area is a relic from the past that has no place in a modern democracy and has to be ended: we live in a secular society and the preachers, pastors, priest, imams, rabbis and their congregants have no special privileges in society as diverse as ours is. Politicians that pander to this nonsense of tax code inequality for religion are all too eager to open the public treasury to feed the sectarian beast.
Yeah, let's call it the Stupid Sky Fairy Tax......
Just one more giant step towards a theocracy. At one time, this would have been unthinkable; but now, with far right wing ideologues in charge of Congress, there WILL be attempts to establish Christianity as the ultimate authority. That would be impossible in any other developed county, but in America?...
My guess is that these churches that engage in political advocacy will NOT be challenged, because neither political party has the cojones to confront religion. But if they are, I fear what will happen if the Supreme Court, dominated by Catholics, gets the case. You can be sure, for instance, that Antonin Scalia, if he got the chance, would turn over the U.S. government to the control of the churches.
I agree with the man upstairs...that man of course being the guy in the video above. Sorry, that joke was awful. The gentlewoman above mentioned bookstores in churches. If they do have stores, those stores probably use sales tax as an order of business. If that's the case, let's just recognize the rest of the church as a business, every church is trying to sell something after all, and tax the hell out of the congregants.
