Inherit the Wind, based on the Scopes trial, certainly characterized Tennessee correctly with that line. When I moved here, I thought "well, at least I'm not in Alabama anymore". Turned out it wasn't actually an improvement. My new state is just as filled with fundamentalist know-nothings as Alabama, if not more so.
We're going to need Clarence Darrow here again before very long. Hope he doesn't lose this time.
