Remembering the USofA's many costly military actions since WW2, our political leaders are giving America the death of a thousand cuts.

yup, there is a saying... if you not interested in politics , politics is interested in you... It sometimes gets complicated, and religion and money are always the instigators for causing conflict...

@archie

It's good to imagine. Like we used to say, what if they gave a war, and nobody came?

Some oppressed people would lose their chance for freedom, some country whose territory was taken wouldn't have a chance at getting it back, some huge transgression would go unpunished, etc.

Can we hope an armed force will enter the US and demand repeal of the PATRIOT Act? That the NSA won't have a list of the library books I check out or the internet sites I visit? Or maybe reverse the Texas schoolbook revisions?

WHEN, just tell me, WHEN --?!

Whether or not you support the idea of helping the rebels (when has that ever gone wrong?), you can still express legitimate disgust at the way military force is supposedly going to be used in Syria; not to topple or destabilize the government, not to eliminate their capacity to use chemical weapons again, just to rap their knuckles and call them bad boys.  War is awful but sometimes necessary and all that happy horseshit, but this proposal for war (or call it what you will) is neither necessary nor even apparently desirable.  It's purely punitive, like the asshole kid you knew who couldn't let an accidental bump in the hallway slide because he'd look like a pussy.  Not exactly going to win Obama a Nobel prize, is it?

I've always been anti-war and I shall forever stand by that

@Nerdy Keith

Only an idiot or psychopath is FOR war, but not every problem in the world can be solved with unicorns and rainbows much less wishing them away.
