"War is a game that has gone too far... If you're against the war, put it out there! Tell your neighbors. Convert your parents!" ~ John Lennon - Please share...
Great vid for an amazing classic!
I am all for this being our planetary Anthem.
It would only happen when people change their attitudes, people are too pre-occupied by frivolous bullshit... forgetting the immenseness of the universe that extends beyond the atmosphere of this insignificant blue spec that orbits one of countless number of stars ... when I see wars and shit.. I just want to throw up... why dont people just keep wars and shit in the X-Box etc ?
Living under a dictator who uses sarin gas on his own people is bullshit? Forget about the universe and the stars. All politics is local.
Our civilization, rather uncivilization, is still in it's infancy as to arriving at a collection understanding that killing one another to solve our disagreements is the most vile & despicable of choices. We are still evolving neanderthals. War IS the scourge we have been unable to shake. The elimination of power hungry governments/leaders and religion will move us in the right direction much faster.
Religion and Country are ancient artifacts that devalue human life and promote war. They drive people to insanity, hate and violence. War has rules ! What a fucking idiotic concept. So now it's an acceptable tool for heads of state and religion to use. Fuck them. And the sheep line up to die and float off to paradise.
All it would take is the people of the world to decide: Enough of all this. I can imagine that. It's easy because we all know that nobody is ever born hating anybody.
It's easy to stand around and act superior and as though you are above it all sitting on a cloud, decrying all wars, as though all wars are just childishness caused by people on both sides acting childishly.
News flash! A lot of wars involve real aggressors and real victims. Not only that, who's the aggressor and who's the victim can involve a lot grey, and a lot of things looking different from different points of view.
When everyone has the same point of view, there will be no more war, but who wants to live in a world which is that homogenous?
News flash, you don't know shit about Syrians, their civil war, or have any solution but to escalate violence. Are you willing to die for this cause? Because if you are not you are the one that is acting superior.
Escalating the violence? Wouldn't keeping poison gas from killing Syrians by the thousands REDUCE the violence? Between Assad and the rebels, the US doesn't have a dog in the fight. It's about the use of WMD's pure and simple. McCain and others want the US to take sides. Obama isn't proposing supporting one side or the other.
This isn't a "cause," this is about national and international policy regarding WMD's and their proliferation.
It's good to imagine. Like we used to say, what if they gave a war, and nobody came?
