unfortunately that's also how my religious grandmother would respond to me if i ever tried explaining something such as evolution to her

I consider myself an agnostic truther, lol.  That is I am 75% convinced that the twin towers were brought down by controlled demolition and that powerful and rich men either knew about it or had a hand in it. After reviewing the evidence and the many coincidences I had to admit that there was something really fishy about the whole incident.  Eventually more and more pieces of the puzzle came together and I am now a believer.  I think that everyone is too afraid to believe that our own government could have done something against it's own people.  It's happened throughout history and there is no reason to think that it wouldn't' happen again.  There are so many red flags that I could not ignore mysterious deaths, billions of dollars being made, the obvious perfect falling of the towers, the lists of engineers, physicist, architects etc. that claim it was not possible for the towers to have fallen down as they did without controlled demolition.  Larry Silverstein making a heafty 7 billion from some 10 million investment and so many other things.

Other countries believe that it was our own government, I don't see why we think that it is impossible for this to happen.  In fact, it has been considered before in recent history:

I'm an agnostic atheist & a fan of Hitchens. But he tends to be hard-headed & pompous.  In this discussion he shows himself as a complete hypocrite. As a skeptic I investigate research analyze all information before I reach conclusion or claim that someone is wrong.  I require investigation before I reach a definite conclusion. He wont let this man speak but cuts him off which is not the way of a true scientist. He proves himself arrogant and closed minded quite like the theist he often ridicules for the same thing. Dawkins takes the time to debate not berate people even those with the most ludicrous beliefs. Had Hitchens taken the time to actually listen to the evidence and have a good old fashion debate he might realize that what he believed might be false.  Just be cause someone is an atheist doesn't mean that they aren't closed-minded.  In fact many atheist are very closed minded when it comes to certain things.  Hitchens is not a scientist which means that he doesn't necessarily have the scientific method or mentality.

It has been investigated over and over...and these loons come and interrupt every event, whether it is Hitchens or Bill Maher - in fact, Bill Maher had to throw these loons off of his show for their disrupting and childlike tactics. Hitchens was exactly right in his response - you don't allow irrationalists posing as "rational" to have the same floor as you, in particular when they have ZERO evidence from a single respectable scientist. 9/11 is not an event Al Qaeda or Bin Laden ever denied or denies - in fact, they gloat about it and use it as a "glory" of their jihad. It is undeniable, just like the Holocaust. You have an ally in your 9/11 truthers campaign (along with Holocaust denying) in Ahmadenijad. What a great leader in the 9/11 truthers movement.

As Richard Dawkins has said, "Be open minded, but not so open minded where your brains fall out"

Have you taken the time to really investigate it?  I thought that the truthers were 'morons' before I took the time to do thorough research myself.  Up until about 4 months ago I thought it was all bs too.  The media will do all it can to hide the truth.  The perfect example of this was the recent protest on Wallstreet that as ignored by the mainstream media.  CNN even criticized the protesters with sarcasm as being 'overeducated, young, and unemployed'.  I have learned to think for myself and to research and not trust anyone since I left my cult years ago.  This world is not a place where truth is easily found, it has to be sought after.  You have to use your own critical thinking skills instead of thinking with your emotions.  I'm a skeptic and sometimes it really sucks  to see how awful humans can be to one another, but I refuse to swallow the blue pill, I took the red pill nearly 10 years ago and now there is no going back.

Yes I have. There is absolutely no scientific evidence. One must study science to a slight degree so one is not fooled by pseudo-science. In addition, this is not something that is even in dispute in the Islamic fanatical world - 9/11 is something they are very much proud of.

Araina ... rationalwiki is in general a good site for sceptics, anti-speudoscience, atheists, free thinkers, rationalists and humanists. Their article on 911 woo is good at summarising the many varied and strange 911 conspiracies. They are all easily discredited.
