Philosopher Daniel Dennett was one of the stars of the Global Atheist Convention in Melbourne and gave a brilliant and whimsical talk on defining the atheist...
You might be an Atheist if you listen to all of this........enjoy
We all read and cite quotes by Hitchens, Dawkins and Harris on a regular basis. But Horseman number four should be appreciated just as much. Dennett has wisdom behind his well-reasoned arguments. While he is a serious academic he is also an accomplished public speaker.

Wonderful! Shared it over to my FB page. Several good points, a few I have made over the years. The point of making mandatory Compairative Religion classes, seems a must to me. Sadly I have only had one such class in my education history, I can feel the absence of a deeper understanding at times.
Hi James – I once attended a lecture of his and he mentioned that very point. He was all for teaching the history of all religions equally so children would grow up with a greater tolerance and respect for people who think differently. He called it teaching the “4 R’s”, religion being the fourth.
I did take a 'Philosophy of Religion' class once. It was a great class, and very lay back, except for the local evangelists grand standing, matched to some guys in my SOS group. I had a habit of openning a very loud can of V-8 in the back that sounded like someone opening a cold one, as the prof. walked in to start. Got my A anyway...LOL
