He was raised atheist, so he didn't come to atheism through self exploration, maybe he never really was an atheist. When one asks "why" one has already presupposed that there is a reason. If one presupposes that there is no reason, then asking "why" is pointless.

Hey my dear Stephen ..

May God's Peace be up on you .

During my study of chemistry for five years at the Faculty of Science, every word of information I receive from my teachers in the university, My faith in my Lord and Khaleqi increase ..

I studied geology for a full year, I found each word of the course i was learned that God tell us about it in the holy quran before 1400 year ..

So whether I do not believe in God?? ..

But i thank God every day by the increase in faith.
