My response to Bryan Fischer's silly rant about "evolutionists" holding office.
wired grey haired fella gets stomped on here.
The video is more nuanced than it's title.
Ever read the book from the early 1980's Moral Majority period title 'The Battle for the Mind', by Tim Lahay?
Dr. Kirkendall of the Portland-Vancouver Humanists asked me to read the book when it came out and write a small review for the group. Sadly I no longer have a copy of my review from that period, but do remember a few details.
Lahay attempts to make a case that Humanists(Atheists also) should never hold office, never be allowed to teach, or even have access to centers of 'higher learning'. Humanist would be added to the large list of undesirables that theist conservatives have a tendency to expand.
I think in the spirit of the desire of human compassion, atheists and humanists should not return the favor. As the twisted version of theism expresses itself, they need our loving, focused, and intelligent conflict. Silence should not be our response...
