This video has given me more insight into how we came to be here than just about everything else I've ever read. How can chaos produce order? Maybe chaos IS order, and simplicity IS complexity - it just depends on the scale at which you set your view.

Thank you Heather for posting this!! It is an amazing video that I hope has legs.  The beauty of the cinematography, the poignancy of the story, the pure wonder of the concepts are staggering in their implications.  My first thought was someone needs to show this to Ray Comfort and William Lane Craig, who constantly argue that "only nothing can come from nothing", and to the idiots at the Discovery/Creationist (Oh wait, I forgot, ID isn't really creationism, wink wink) Institute, who go on and on about irreducible complexity. It's frightening in the implication that we have set in motion the creation of energies that might just decide they don't need our ignorant interference any more.  But it does present a picture of a wild, fascinating and unpredictable world.  How very exciting.

It's odd, I've run into this sort of math before, even played with it a bit, but I'v never seen it all abstracted, pulled together, and looked at from this perspective.  It really does open one's eyes.
