Journalist and author Christopher Hitchens on Ron Paul's foreign policy in an interview on March 2, 2010. Thomas Jefferson's "Empire of liberty": http://en.w...

I am deaf. I need text.
Hitchens is correct in his condemnation of religion, but he is clearly wrong in his analysis of RP. He made a grossly erronious statement is saying that BO is not provoking war (my words to paraphrase). Ask the peoples of Pakistan if there has not been the killing (actually murder since we have not declared war on Pakistan) of hundreds if not thousands of innocent men/women/babies from our Predator strikes.
I'm afraid politically that Hitchens is a neo-con in that since. And, apparently, he does not believe that 911 was an "inside job" as I and many others believe. Let's trade with any nation including Cuba, N. Korea, Iran. My gosh, we trade with the USSR in the midst of the so-called "cold war".
I'll try to provide text later William. But Hitchens is right on money. Ron Paul is morally bankrupt and his defeatist ideology is a threat for all of us. This lunatic Ron Paul would even allow the Islamic Republic to acquire nuclear weapons. The great Christopher Hitchens' once again speaking with clarity and conviction as he has time and time again in standing on the right side of history.
And people who believe 9/11 was an inside job demonstrate a lot by that very failed stance. It speaks volumes about those particular ideologues which base their beliefs on zero factual evidence. It boggles my mind how such people can be atheist when atheists are supposed to be rationalists.
I think that your definition of "morally bankrupt" needs a tremendous amount of explanation. To say Paul or Hitchens could be morally bankrupt would mean either one had no core ethical principles. I doubt you mean what you said or else please provide evidence of RP's moral vaccuum. I believe siding oneself with the Constitution displays a definite propensity to one being moral...its a document that describes a set of principles in a moral social setting where the individual is paramount.
"lunatic"...looks like we all would have learned as atheits to avoid such broad stroking that makes one look both silly and uneducated. Any country has the right to develop nuclear capacities either for good or bad or defensive purposes. If having nuclear weapons is evil...then we are the worst at it.
"great"....Hitchens is very erudite, but I would not classify him or anyone else as "the great". "..any people who believe 911"...I totally am convinced by the evidence and by a key statement Cheney had made that the event was scripted and carried out by many individuals especially in the case of the small initial hole on the face of the Pentagon and the lack of wing impact points on the wall before the collapse..
Yes, it should speak volumes. Your demeaning tone adds nothing to the debate and 'speaks volumes' about opening one's mouth and inserting ones foot. "zero" evidence? Even members of the 911 commission stated that, in effect, it was destined to come to one conclusion before it began.
It boggles my mind how an atheist can pose to be so rational and yet allow emotionalism of their atheist 'faith' to oppose true rationality. Emotional dogmatism seems to always trump reason and rationality whether one calls oneself and atheist or not.
Sorry, I don't understand your comment at all . What 'stance' are you evoking from your first paragraph.
Are you saying there was no complicity from people on the ground in America as four separate war games were taking place pretending to defend against attacks. All while four jet airliners were pick pocketed out of the control of the Federal Aviation Industry and deposited in places like the 94 floor of the building which housed 4 billion in gold ingots which was 'never found'. I guess the terrorists also took that when nobody was looking.
Every I beam from the site was taken a few blocks to the river where they were then shipped to Italy to be melted down. Why Italy when there are Steel forges all over America.
You are on here as a regular , I'm not , but when I visit and see a comment about those who "believe 9/11 was an inside job" without a clear statement. Calling their ideologues baseless, demonstrates you have a cheque in your pocket to give me for the bridge I 'm going to sell you.
Sorry if I got it all wrong.. I couldn't understand anything in the video. I can only comment on your confusing post.
What failed stance are you talking about?
Bill...can't see a 'thread' here so I assume this is a rebuttal from someone else. I totally agree with you and your logic. It is not baseless to discuss events that make NO sense. Where are the bodies or parts of bodies and the fuselage/engines in Pennsylvania? Did the plane wreckage bury itself underground never to be seen? How does the initial 'hole' in the wall of the Pentagon (before the surrounding area caved in) accomodate a huge plane and yet no wing indentations in the wall of the Pentaton and no wing parts laying on the ground outside the building. It's oh so obvious except to those here and elsewhere who refuse to utilize the gray matter in their frontal lobes.
What chance do you all think Ron Paul, at 75, has of becoming the next president ? For that matter, even getting the nomination. ?
Being an isolationist and non-interventionist are two separate, different policies and views in my opinion.
I agree Ben. I want us to trade with every nation. Better goods and services cross borders than armies. How is that being isolationist? Answer: It's not.
With age comes wisdom...with most people. Ron Paul's age should not be an issue.
