I find the way they use 'Religious Oppression' to be be very ironic

The personal opinion of the poorly educated, most likely poorly raised and definitely religiously indoctrinated doesn't belong in the workplace.

Yup! Why if I don't know any transgendered people, there must not be any! AND it's not oppression to oppress people, just oppression to notice and complain (whine) about it.

There is a difference between a company policy and an employee's opinion. It think it is appropriate in this case that she ought to have been kindly escorted to the front entrance right away after such weird behavior.

I wonder how fast her tune would change if we could change her brain chemistry and make her feel like a man trapped in a womans body... I am also glad she got fired and I hope Macy's does two things: 1) NEVER cave to pressure from religious institutions, and 2) open in Australia... non-bigotted workplaces and shopping areas are totally welcome here!

She should follow her religion and be silent in the presence of a 'man', for if the transgendered person was a man in her eyes, then she had no business volunteering her opinion.

Good for Macys, and I hope this bigot loses her case. Being trans is hard enough without haters like this telling us we are "a man". If this "lady" could experience Gender Identity Disorder for just one day, I'd be willing to bet she changed her tune, despite what her religious beliefs supposedly say. As a side note, several of my trans friends attend churches and are accepted by their congregations, so her claim that this is purely religious seems suspect. She's likely just prejudiced and flailing round for something to try and justify it.

Maybe she was just jealous that the trans-woman in question was better looking than her!
