Childhood and Dreams, a song by atheist folkster Paul Fryer

If I look back 20 yrs I see the person I am today staring back at me. I see the seeds that were planted and that now makeup the roots of my life. All the answers can be found as I sit alone through a sleepless night, too scared to sleep, waiting for morning. All the fears and the hopes I had then still echo within me know, amplified through the years. But as the fears have grown the dreams have faded.

I will make
my way to you
The challenge was set
But I came through
My life was told
By a child of nine
Dreams and illness and fears
And little time
If my, education is true
I’m found at the centre of you
Years teach, not to ignore
The words of a boy
Who’s been here before
Sat alone
Wait for the light
Pass the time
Hold yourself tight
Pictures and words
Surround my sleep
The future was then
Amongst the days that are gone
In the memories we keep
If my, education is true
I’m found at the centre of you
Years teach, not to ignore
The words of a boy
Who’s been here before
