Mormon temple ceremonies are a closely held secret. Until now. For the first time in the 170+ year history of secret Mormon temple activity, those activities...

Comment by Nate Lundgren on November 3, 2012 at 7:54am I'm not going to get into heaven now because I will tell you all that my new name was "Josiah" Most of the new names are taken from the bible as far as I remember. Anyway, why would I want to go to heaven with a name like that hahaha :P
Comment by archaeopteryx on November 3, 2012 at 10:35am Just curious Nate, what would be the general reaction among those doing the anointing, if the process happened to arouse the initiate and the bedsheet suddenly jutted out a little further on one side than normal? You KNOW it must surely have happened a time or two - tell me they don't play "Whack-a-Mole" --
Comment by Nate Lundgren on November 3, 2012 at 6:48pm Arch, I have been an "officiator" in the temple and did all of these ceremonies from the perspective of the priest that does these ceremonies. I can't report any times when that happened or heard of happening but it certainly would be possible especially if a repressed gay man was being touched by another dude on his forehead, chest, lower part of the leg, top of the foot and back/kidney area as part of the "anointing" I only did this ceremony as an officiator a few times so I don't know if that happened. I know I was paranoid about it when I was the one being touched but never got aroused since the experience is not exactly sexual in nature. It is a ritual that is very formal and rigid with special prayers/words/(spells) hahaha It really is like a cleaned up/modernized version of magical/druid type stuff. Mormonism does have a lot of sexual health and mental illness problems around sexuality like any fundamentalist control freak type culture. I do relate in some ways with muslims/ex-muslims when it comes to the repression of normal human feelings about sex and pleasure in general. So to actually answer your question they wouldn't talk about it and pretend like erections don't exist. Ignoring/denying the problems seems to be the order of the day in mormon culture.
Comment by archaeopteryx on November 3, 2012 at 7:02pm I suspect that denial is the mainstay of most religions.
