The idea of evolution does predate Darwin, but not in it's current form as a scientific theory. It had been toyed with. The concept was there, but no supporting evidence existed or was being searched for. To say that they debated it then and had an understanding of the concept or any modern data is quite the farce.

Even they did want creationism taught in schools, which they certainly did not, so what? Some of those founding fathers approved of slavery and oppressed women too. Being the founding fathers doesn't make it by default a good idea.

Hmm, so according to this guy slavery should still be legal, women shouldn't be allowed to vote, and the military should be using front loading muskets and the navy should get around using the wind.

I wonder what Mr. Barton would have to say to these words, also from Thomas Paine from Age of Reason:
