Atheists More Knowledgeable Than Catholics & Evangelicals About Religion

Very nice. I only don't like that the one guy said that atheists are knowledgeable about religion because they spend so much time fighting the religious. Even if you would change fighting to "debating" that would still only cover a portion of the reason. I guess it's not good to say on national television that many athists are knowledeable because they wanted to learn more about their own religion, and the religions of the world. Then, upon obtaining the knowledge have become atheists and agnostics.

It's very true that many christians know very little about the foundation on which their relgion is based, and mainstream christianity today does push for a focus on this "relationship" with Jesus. Major religions prefer that the majority stay ignorant about their religion.

That's probably partially true, but how about the fact that if you actually know what the stuff is about, you become an atheist out of simple common sense? The best way to get a person to become an atheist is to get them to read the bible or koran.
