Atheism is Descriptive, Not Prescriptive

(Note: I posted this to YouTube back in January, hence the references to the then-recent Tucson shooting.)

So we've all pretty much decided that the stupid and irresponsible bile spewed forth on a daily basis by the likes of Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin didn't have anything to do with the Tucson shooting, right? Right. Know what else had nothing to do with it? Jared Loughner's apparent atheism.

Also: reading Ayn Rand ain't sexy.

This video hits close to home since I actually had family there when the shootings were taking place. My niece and her children were interviewed the following night at the vigil.

Back then I was still in my delusional daze, but I did not place blame on him because he was an atheist. I summed it up to "bad wiring" and the act of an individual not a belief/unbelief system. There are nut jobs of all walks of life out there making their own reality and harming others in the process.
