The Chaser's War on Everything classic video.

Anyway, want to say that I truly respect the USA and everything this country has achieved so far, but there are some Americans which are just plain... funny.

I'd love to see those same people answer that last question now that Bush is out of office.

This raises a question for me though. How can the public at large be exposed to objective information more effectively? Not FIXED News or The Dregs Report, but actual objective information. (Not just about current events, but about science as well.) Clearly these people had been passed over by an abundance of information. It seems like there's a market there. ;)

I wouldn’t give much credence to such type of videos. I don't think Americans in general are that ignorant. - I thought this website is for critical thinkers. Think critically folks before jumping in with your comments! - If someone wants to make Americans look stupid, s/he would have no problem doing so by interviewing thousands of people going about their business on the streets of America and then producing a video which includes only those handful of responses that happen to be in line with the producers preconceived agenda. – i.e. to make Americans look stupid!

I’m disappointed by the responses to this video on this website. – Especially this website!

Unholypirate, I don't want to speak for anyone else, but I think that everyone was just joking. No one actually thinks that this is truly a representative portrayal of American intelligence.

However, this country is consistently ranked quite low amongst our international peers in various academic fields; we may boast some of the best scholarly institutions, but we seem to fail at educating our populace en masse. Ignorance is sadly the norm rather than an aberration. Personally, I think that the entire situation is a direct reflection of the puerile programming that passes for "news" in the United States.
