Suffering our atheism, eh?

People like this are harmful. Pure and simple. I wish people like him would stop using the word Atheist like it was a dirty, horrible thing to be...he was using it like you might expect someone to use jackass, or in some societies, leper.

These fools are just tools (and not very bright ones at that) of the religous empire...

The birth of a child convincing me there is a God? That's just dumb... granted, it is a beautiful thing, but according to the bible that child is born sinful and evil and deserving of torture and pain in hell. How could you look at that new born child and believe that a loving God would say those things about something so innocent and beautiful? No lady, the birth of a child only furthers my atheism.... sorry.

Interesting. I don't know if I have 'suffered' with my humanist/atheist metaphysical commitment. I have suffered in this culture for my honesty. Being asked to parrot beliefs that do not fit well with my understanding or sensibilities, means to me that I would become a lie to myself.

How do you explain things you observe in nature? Oh, I dunno, perhaps you could try opening a scientific textbook and reading a few sections...
