I know I am an atheist because I do not believe in god however I was pushed and shoved into this religious retreat called Kairos at my school. One of my goals is to learn more about all religions so that I can argue with a better understanding of religions. I was talking to the pastoral director and apparently my want to go out and gain knowledge somehow makes me agnostic now so what am I? Thanks
I am a moderator here on think atheist. I have temporarily closed your recent thread titled "So confused between agnostic and atheist values." There is nothing wrong with the content, but we have many many discussions on this site dealing with the distinction between atheism and agnosticism already.
if you'd simply like to learn more about agnosticism vs. atheism, please search out and use existing threads on the subject, or I can point some out for you if you're having difficulty finding them, or
if you'd like to get feedback on your specific experience with that pastoral director can you please modify the title so that we don't start up yet another thread debating the definitions of agnosticism and atheist? Perhaps something like "Confused: Labelled as 'agnostic' by a Pastoral Director" (just a suggestion).
Apologies for any inconvenience; we are just trying to keep the site organized. If anything is unclear, feel free to send me a message.
