Hey Jon. Yes I do play guitar (all-state jazz guitarist) and love playing ALL styles. also play piano, and like you, whatever i pick up, i can usually figure out pretty quickly. Its nice to meet you, thanks for the comment. need something on my page lol
hey Jon, wanted to let you know that i removed the thread you started on the survey results showing atheists/agnostics know more about religion. in the last 4 hours 3 threads have been posted in the forum on that topic so i had to consolidate them all. i had to make a decision on which thread to leave up of the three and normally that would have been the first one to be posted but while your thread was the first to post it had no responses as yet while doone's thread has several including lots of additional posts by doone showing results from the survey.
i hope you understand. you can find doone's thread here.
Hi! Thanks for drawing ur attention towards me. I am very happy that i found this site and get a chance to communicate with people with whom i share equal believes. Thanks for being a frnd on this site.
Hi.. you are not completely wrong, that many people are here because of its phylosophy...but lots of people who are hindu are kind of orthodox..they can't leave their religion because they don't have any option...according to my knowledge most of hindu consider other religions more rude and strict so they prefer not to leave it. And my other reason hinduism is..if u know about hinduism then u would also that it is divided into four castes, i belong to the lowest.. And the people of upper cast treat us like animals, they don't let us enter in the temples, they don't allow us to touch their food material its very pathetic..so i decided to better leave that religion which can't give me proper respect.
When I said New Age I might have been sterotyping. As I understand it, there is New Age (spiritual energies and the like) and then more traditional religions such as Wiccia. Am I wrong about this (because of christian propoganda)? I would like to get my understanding of the basics right and be free from the ideas that other religions have used like poison. As your second post mentioned Wikipedia, I read some info from there and some aspects within Wiccia sounded more philosophical that religious. If you know a site that outlines the basics very well, please send a comment. The majority of sites that I can find do not outline any major ideas. I will continue with Wikipedia and see how things go.
Thanks
Hay, concerning your offer eariler, could you point me in the direction of a few good pagan websites? It is really hard shifting through New Age stuff to find anything interesting. I thought that I might want to clear up any misconceptions about paganism that i might have.
Thanks

when i first found my atheism i was interested in the similarities in other gods and Jesus. this is just part of what i made as a depiction of the unoriginality of the Christ story.
Paganism is interesting because it stresses tolerance more then any other belief system
This is why i have a great respect for jainism; it is peaceful and predates christ.
I will continue my reading into pagan history, culture and beleifs and drop you a comment whenever I find something i do not understand.
Thanks
I don't know any pagans personally but I would like to. I went to an pagan fest as part of Medieval re-enactment archery group and took time to attend some of the lectures. the ones concerning history was a lot less one sided compared to christian-based history. The majority of my re-enactment archery group were christian and stayed clear of the pagans; it was kind of funny. But a local church had a tent near the enterance and were flogging their wares. The pagan organizers had let them attend; if that isn't religious tolerance, I don't know what is.
Even though I have free-thinking friends at my school. The majority are either Christian and Catholic. And since I go to a private sometimes religion gets infused into the teaching. But I am still happy with the community at my school and the neighbors, even if most of them are Republican and give you a weird look when you posted an Obama/Biden sign on your lawn.
