Hi River, Wondering how you are and what you are up to these days? Spend any time on A/N? Had to share this cute e-toy with you.... I love this silly stuff. Keep in touch and come visit with us here once in a while.
I'm not an admin, so you might want to get with Morgan if you want an official statement on it.
I only joined Atheist Nation last week, and I noticed the "only atheist or agnostic" line.
When I joined here on Think Atheist I don't recall any such line (but it was awhile ago). If you go to your 'My Page' and scroll down to the 'Profile Information' section, then click the Edit button, there is a section that says 'Your Religious Status' and provides the following options: Atheist, Secular/Nonreligious/Agnostic, Christian, Catholic, Islam, Hinduism, Mormonism, Chinese Folk, Buddhism, Judaism, Shinto & Japanese syncretism, Other.
There is a separate section for 'the religion you left' - which implies to me that T|A allows anyone to join (as long as they are civil of course).
Do you have it backwards? I don't recall T|A having any restrictions, and in fact when you join under the 'Religious Status' section you have lots of choices. It is on Atheist Nation that your only options are "I'm Atheist" or "I'm Agnostic."
Thanks so much for the words of encouragement!
Matt Dillahunty does so much for the cause and yes, he was VERY devout. I think he can quote verse like a professional thumper. He never made it to seminary school (though he thought about entering) and I think he would have made a terrific preacher because he explains things so well. I actually did a search on Atheist Experience within this site and somebody already put links up to the show. He is a true superstar.
I really like your chutzpah. Continued success on spreading the Word!
Heya, RiverOtter. Welcome to the site.
One of the few good things to come out of Dole's raving was it provides a clear example to show people who still think that there's no anti-atheist bigotry.

Atheist Nation lets you choose "Undecided, Agnosticism, Atheism, Deism, Ignosticism, Pragmatism, and Theism."
My bad; sorry for any confusion.
