At times I'm more than ready to run as far as I can from the belt but then there's a lot more that I love here. Hopefully I'll end up in a more accepting place than where I grew up.

Thanks Mo! Its one of those weird English surnames which come from a job in medieval times - one peasant on a large estate belonging to a nobleman would take responsibility for overseeing the work of the others and in return when the other tenants paid their rent in produce or money he would symbolically present the Lord or whatever with a rose from his garden in lieu of rent. He would be known by the surname Pluckrose so everyone knew he was a sort of supervisor. Has unfortunate rhyming possibilities when my husband was at school tho!
Hello from Oregon! In response to your curiosity about my comments in the "God in School" topic I posted some articles about religion in Oregon in my Oregon Atheists group.
Hi, Mo. Thanks for adding me as a friend, nice to meet you.
Also, thanks for your kind comment about my status message. Yes, it's my original thought, it was originally a tweet. You can read the original version here.
You, my friend, are a better human than I am. :) I can't handle accusations and nonsense from people like that KH guy. Especially when I just (very recently) came out to everyone. It's a bit tough to be so bold at the moment. Thanks for taking that on.

I rather liked last pope, but that was because everyone talked good about him, now that he is dead, things become to surface and he is to me just one of many crazy autocrats in the world. Best example of his rule of tyranny was forbidding aids victims to use condoms and it was during his reign that aids started to spread and became pandemic. Thanks pope :(
What is even more hideous is the fact that "...Pope John Paul II declared him a martyr and beatified him." from wiki and aka one step closer to being a saint. Few of my close family members and friends, some Jews, were killed by Ustashe especially in my home town where before second world war there were around 5000 Jews, all probably killed, none ever returned.
p.s. sorry for late reply, my computer broke down for two days.
Every phobia is based on generalisation, but you must understand that all I have learned about America is from the phosphorescent screen, it's like reading a bible to learn about medicine.
I actually have americansphobia because of your great leader Bush. I still can't make myself trust americans :(. But I feel great when I meet an atheist. I don't feel isolated any more and the fear disappears.
Don't think americans are special, I don't trust people in general ;)
