Thanks Darrell: Really appreciated the shout out. I had saw your comments in the deconversion group, but also saw that the group was pretty inactive for the past few years.
I had thought that my story was pretty wild and crazy, but I also see that you've had one wild ride.
THanks for a referral to the Patheos site. This can be an incredibly lonely journey, so I might email you as well. I did find an atheist-agnostic community near my home that I attend periodically, but I find that few there have my background. Evapecially on Facebook and Twitter you run into a lot hardcore and emotionally immature atheists who tritely talk about cutting off religious members of their family. In short, it's good to chat with people who get it.
I was of course and I don't really have a "pilow stone'. As for the deconversion, I don't know how much of an expert I am but I'd be very happy to help out where I can. There's a discussion right now I think you would benefit from enormously if this is your interests. It's in that group I told you about, Welcome All Adherents and entitled, "How do I know that your god is The One, True God". It is a very illuminating conversation I've developed over the years.
A "pillow stone" is an old tale of a "magical" stone that protects and comforts the bearer. The Knights Templar used them supposedly to sleep on, hence the name. It is shaped a bit concavely and the head fits nicely into it.
I just saw your comment on my page. Glad you replied. You indeed manage quite well to write in french, as you have shown. I know where the Parc Régional is... I've been planning to take a bicycle ride there but didn't yet. Maybe next summer. I'm located right in the center of Longueuil and I don't go often to Montreal... especially during winter. I like cold weather so much that I almost hibernate all winter long. lol If I happen to go downtown Mtl I'll drop you a message.
