I'm excited to see you this weekend for derby. Thanks for volunteering. Matt and Jamie are volunteering too, so come sit with them when you get done with the trolley. I'm looking forward to your show!
I'm sure you're busy, and that's great about your job.
I posted a couple of pictures I've done recently. Not sure when you'll get to see it, and there'll probably be more by then. But I thought I'd tell you anyway.
My mind's kind of like, scattered right now so I'm not sure how coherent this will be. At any rate, I'm glad that what I said was cool... I didn't really realize what I had written you until I posted it and re-read it twenty minutes later. And then I thought I sounded just a little creepy. But whatever, I think I'm probably creepy most of the time anyway.
As for Tool, they're pretty amazing. I have to admit to being a loser and only recently getting into them... but I love them lots anyways. And about my sketches... those were all drawn a long time ago! High school, and not even the end of it...more like, 10th grade, about? So my style is greatly improved as is my contouring and stuff. Plus I use a lot of water colors and gouache paints now.
By the way, comments are getting annoying. You ever go on AIM, or something? Maybe we could chat some time.
Hokay, since I don't really use myspace, I'm not gonna friend you. This is probably going to be a painfully long comment, but it's all good.
First off, your sculptures are what really drew me in. They're very good and they invoke an emotion that I am unsure what to call right now, but it's something between chest-aching sadness and some odd kind of fascination.
I also enjoy your music. It reminds me a little of Tool, or A Perfect Circle, but really only because... I'm not sure. The sound of your voice is somehow similar to both Maynard James Keenan and the singer of Beirut. "Right now" reminds me of a less pretty-folksy Beirut song, kinda like Postcards in Italy. I think it has something to do with the rhythm of the chords and your high notes. It's beautiful and unique, and I like it.
You should really take all of this to be a big compliment... I don't usually like my friend's music. lol.
So, yeah, you're pretty damn neat. I have some of my old artwork up on myspace, if you'd like to take a peek. It's more sketches than anything else. Here's a link: www.myspace.com/inaphrasetocut
Music is probably what keeps my world revolving. Maybe it's because I don't actually play an instrument anymore... I used to play cello and a little piano and a little guitar, but those never went very far. And then I got into art so... *insert shrugging motion here*.
I'm also not one for sculpture. You sound to be much more universal than me. I stick mainly to writing prose and drawing comic-like things to go along with it.
Ha, that's wonderful. It's rare to see, let alone meet, a person that one thinks is BEAUTIFUL. Given the eye of the beholder thing and all. Ahh, the small pleasures.
And definitely ask her to dinner. So many menfolk have lost their testicular fortitude these days; it will probably be refreshing to her to get asked on a "real" date, as opposed to, "We should hang out." Eck.
I am fantastic. I just got a really good job, met a BEAUTIFUL girl at a gas station, and I've set my heart on asking her to dinner next time I see her... a very awkward friend of mine was with me before, which is the only reason I stopped my self from saying "You are Gorgeous! May I take you to dinner." I really had to hold back... she is... wow.

So, what kind of art do you do? All of the above, or just one?
