Got another funny Obesity link from wired.com
1 person dead from Swine Flu in the US ...Meanwhile another 5,769 people have died from obesity in the past week. Maybe you people should forget about H1N1 and lay off the chalupas. (wrongdiagnosis.com)/b>
Alright! I will join, but for the record, cigarettes are not something I "feel" are wrong (I have no problem with smokers around me) but it is something that is scientifically proven dangerous(long term), and sin taxes have shown themselves to be a way to encourage people to stop. There are more moral ways to encourage people to stop though. Anyway, you're right I shouldn't split hairs!
But I think sin taxes can be an effective disincentive for things we decide are unsafe or unhealthy or otherwise pose a burden on the whole of society!
